Halloween in Folsom: Festifall and Trick-or-Treating Guide

Halloween in Folsom: Festifall and Trick-or-Treating Guide

by | Oct 23, 2024

Get ready to dust off your broomsticks and polish your pumpkins because Folsom, California, is gearing up for a Halloween Celebration and a spooktacular celebration on October 26, 2024! The historic district is transforming into a Halloween wonderland for Festifall and Trick or Treating, and you won’t want to miss out on this ghoulishly good time.

Festifall: Where Fall Meets Fun

Festifall is like autumn; a party had a baby, and that baby grew up to be the coolest kid in town. From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the streets of Historic Folsom will buzz with excitement, laughter, and probably a few sugar-high kids (and adults, let’s be honest).

Candy Crawl: A Sweet Tooth’s Dream
Forget about your diet for a day and join the Candy Crawl on Sutter Street. Local merchants will be handing out treats faster than you can say “trick or treat.” It’s like a treasure hunt, but you’re searching for chocolate bars and lollipops instead of gold. Just remember to pace yourself – we don’t want candy-induced comas before the night ends!

Bouncing Good Time
If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a human popcorn kernel, you’re in luck! Inflatables will be scattered throughout the event, allowing kids (and brave adults) to bounce their hearts out. It’s a great way to work off all that candy… or at least that’s what we’ll tell ourselves.

Crafts and Games: For the Creative Monsters
For those who prefer their fun a little less bouncy, plenty of crafts and games will keep you entertained. You might discover a hidden talent for pumpkin painting or witch-hat making. Just don’t be surprised if your masterpiece ends up on the fridge for the following year.

Trick or Treating: The Main Event

As the sun begins to set, the real magic happens. From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Historic Folsom transforms into a trick-or-treater’s paradise. It’s like your childhood dreams come to life with better costumes and (hopefully) less awkward interactions with your neighbors.

Costume Parade
Strut your stuff in your “not-too-scary” costume. Whether you’re going as a classic vampire, a trendy TikTok reference, or something in between, this is your chance to shine. Just remember, if you’re dressing as a ghost, make sure you can see where you’re going. We don’t want any accidental haunting of lamp posts.

Safe and Sweet
Parents, rejoice! This event offers a safe environment for your little goblins to collect their sugary loot. There is no need to worry about dark streets or suspicious houses – just good old-fashioned fun in a well-lit, community-friendly setting. Plus, you get to sneak a few pieces of candy for yourself. It’s called parental tax, look it up.

Tips for Maximum Festifall Fun

  1. Arrive Early: Parking can be tricky, so aim to get there early. The free parking garage at 905 Leidesdorff St is your best bet. Just don’t forget where you parked – searching for your car in a sea of minivans is not the kind of scavenger hunt we had in mind.
  2. Bring a Big Bag: You’ll need it for all the candy. A pillowcase works great, or go eco-friendly with a reusable tote. Just make sure it can handle the weight of approximately 3,000 mini Snickers bars.
  3. Wear Comfortable Shoes: You’ll be doing a lot of walking. This is not the time to break in those new six-inch witch heels.
  4. Stay Hydrated: All that candy can make you thirsty. Bring a water bottle, or risk turning into a raisin by the end of the night.
  5. Charge Your Phone: You’ll want plenty of battery life for all those Instagram-worthy costume pics.

The Cherry on Top

As if all this wasn’t enough, the event is free! That’s right. You can have all this fun without spending a dime (unless you count the money you’ll inevitably spend on post-Halloween dentist visits).

So mark your calendars, prep your costumes, and prepare for a day of fall festivities that’ll have you falling in love with Folsom all over again. Festifall and Trick or Treating in Historic Folsom is more than just an event – it’s a chance to make memories, indulge your sweet tooth, and maybe, just maybe, convince yourself that you still fit into that superhero costume from college.
